My Struggle with LinkedIn Verification (And What I Learned)

When I created my LinkedIn account, I thought getting verified would be quick and easy. I had no idea that such a small thing could turn into a long and confusing process. But this experience taught me a lot about how LinkedIn actually works behind the scenes. Here is what really happened with my LinkedIn verification.

Using a New Gmail Was My Biggest Mistake

I made my LinkedIn account using a brand-new Gmail ID. At that time, I didn’t know that LinkedIn checks how old and active your email is. A new email looks risky to their system, so my verification got delayed for almost one whole month. If I had used an old Gmail, this problem wouldn’t have happened.

 No Clear Answers from LinkedIn

What made it worse was that LinkedIn didn’t tell me exactly what went wrong. There was no clear message saying, “Your email is new” or “Your profile looks incomplete.” I was just left waiting, hoping it would get approved.

The Waiting Was Frustrating

Every day I kept checking my LinkedIn and email, but there were no updates. I wanted to start posting, connecting, and growing my profile, but being unverified made me feel stuck.

What LinkedIn Really Looks For

After researching and waiting, I Finally understood that LinkedIn wants:

– A real and old email ID

– A proper profile photo and details

– Some activity on the account

What I Learned

This small experience taught me a big lesson. When you are creating a professional account, even small things matter. A simple mistake like using a new Gmail can slow everything down.

 Final Thoughts

Getting verified on LinkedIn is not difficult, but it requires patience and the right setup. If you are starting your LinkedIn journey, use an old email, complete your profile properly, and stay active. This will make your verification smooth and stress-free.

Sometimes, small mistakes teach us the biggest lessons.

My Digital Journey on Instagram

And that’s already something I’m proud of.

Hi, this is Diya Jain.

I’ve always been the kind of girl who loves getting captured —
be it modelling, ramp walk, debate, stage, camera, or any spotlight moment.
I’ve always felt alive in front of people, in front of a lens, in front of an audience.

But people don’t describe me in a “soft girl” way.

They say:
“Ye bahot danger hai bhai, door hi rehna isse.”

And honestly?
I loved that tagline.

Not because it sounds scary —
but because it sounded fearless.
Unfiltered.
Bold.
Unapologetic.
Different.

That’s the energy I wanted to carry in life.

The First Step Into the Digital World

One day, I finally decided to stop overthinking and start doing.

I created my first Instagram post in the niche of digital marketing.
No big expectations.
No viral dreams.
Just intention.

And surprisingly — it reached 2.5k people in a few days.

That moment felt special.
Not because of the numbers —
but because for the first time, I felt seen for my mind, not just my face.

Then came the 2nd post.
Then the 3rd.
Slowly, belief started replacing doubt.

The Project That Changed Everything

Then came a college project.

Not a normal one.
A creative one.

We had to:

  • Create a social media handle

  • Build a campaign

  • Design a buyer persona

  • Market a funny product

The product was called Chashmella
a chasma with an umbrella attached to it.
Protection from rain, dust, and sun.

Sounds funny, right?

But the crazy part?

We created it with our own hands.
Not just digital work —
we physically made the product.

Then we launched the page.
Posted the intro.
Posted the second.
Posted the third.

And then…

Boom.

It went viral.

Not “nice reach” viral.
Not “good engagement” viral.

4.7 MILLION reach.

4.7M views.
Love.
Messages.
Jokes.
Shares.
Comments.
Recognition.

And inside me — something shifted.

That was the moment I felt it clearly:

“I am made for content creation.”

Not as a hobby.
Not as a phase.
Not as timepass.

As a path.

That’s where @brandwid_diya was born.
That’s where my real digital journey started.

The Reality No One Talks About

But here’s the truth people don’t glamorize.

Consistency is not aesthetic.
Consistency is exhausting.

I got my first company.
Started working as a Social Media Manager.
Handling:

  • College

  • Institution

  • Part-time work

  • Clients

  • Deadlines

  • Pressure

I was creating content every day —
but not for myself.

Posting for brands became my job.
Posting for my page became a task.

Sunday came — the only rest day.
And even then:
“Content banana hai.”
“Shoot karna hai.”
“Edit karna hai.”
“Post karna hai.”

And honestly?

I didn’t feel like doing it.

Days became weeks.
Weeks became months.
No posts.
No consistency.
No presence.

The Realisation

One thought changed everything:

“If I can serve a company with full dedication,
why am I not serving myself?”

That question hit hard.

Because building someone else’s brand is powerful —
but building your own identity is necessary.

So I came back.

Not with pressure.
Not with perfection.
Not with fake hustle motivation.

But with acceptance.

That this page is my life too.
My journey too.
My story too.

And I decided:

I won’t only post digital marketing content.

I will also post:

  • My lifestyle

  • My routine

  • My process

  • My chaos

  • My real days

  • My human side

Because I’m not just a digital marketer.
I’m a person with:

  • dreams

  • fear

  • confusion

  • ambition

  • creativity

  • passion

  • identity

A Message to Anyone Reading This

Before serving companies —
serve yourself.

Before building brands —
build your identity.

Before being consistent for clients —
be consistent for your dreams.

Before becoming a professional —
remain human.

Because:

  • Algorithms change

  • Platforms shift

  • Trends fade

  • Reach drops

But identity stays.

This blog is not a success story.
It’s not a motivational climax.
It’s not a perfect journey.

It’s a real one.

Messy.
Uncertain.
Incomplete.
Still building.

And maybe that’s the most honest part of it.

Because something is still forming.
Something is still growing.
Something is still coming together.

This is not the end.
This is not even the middle.

This is just the start of a chapter I haven’t fully understood yet.

And maybe…

The next blog will tell you what I’m becoming.
To be continued…
